Monday was the first day of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week....and now it's Wednesday. So, there have been a couple of shows, from Versace to Valentino. I have been spending my Wednesday looking at the runways, as I like to call it "getting information". So, as I have looked through the pictures from the runways throughout the half of the week, I picked out my favorite runway looks. Of course I ran into some designers that I didn't like, and I'm just not gonna mention them...
The first one is from Alexandre Vauthier. I fell in love with this collection because of the draping of fabric, miniskirts, and it's use of black, white, and gold together (literally any piece of clothing with those colors attracts me). The one pictured was my absolute favorite. The gold jacket was the first thing I saw, and that made me fall in love with it. The crystals on it made me fall in love with it more and more.
Second one is from Bouchra Jarrar. This collection had many draping necklines, biker-style pants, and long sleeveless jackets. The one pictured was my favorite because of its tough look. The pants did it all. The slim-fit trousers with the silver chains, is perfect.
Next is from Versace. If you read my previous post, then you already know how much I loved the collection. This was my favorite because of its use of fur and net. The top was cropped, and I think that gave it it's racy look, which was what the Fall 2013 Couture collection was.
Chanel, Chanel, Chanel. The hats on the runway are a different topic, but I particularly loved this look. Over-sized coats are showing up in so many of the runways, and looks like Chanel joined in. I'm glad that there was a plain black belt there because otherwise it would have just been a huge black, gray, and white mess. But, the coat was what I really loved about the look.
Elie Saab is next. Now, I just want to start off by saying that I would not be surprised if celebrities wore dresses by Elie Saab on the red carpet. These dresses are absolutely gorgeous. They had long necklines, but there were such elegant gowns, that I fell in love with this collection. I could not choose one look.
Valentino had an interesting one. Most of the look had the color brown in it, and some looks looked very old fashioned. But, I did like many of the looks on the runway. I really liked the one above simply because of the two patterns this one dress had.
Lastly, I loved Jean Paul Gaultier. Most of the looks were black and brown. And I love this one because of the over-sized black and brown coat with the black and gold belt. The patterned stockings gave it an edgy feel, with the black heels.
Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week is going good. Hopefully your eyes don't hurt after reading all this. What looks were your favorites, and who are you excited to see on the runway next?
